Recently had the chance to check out Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant in Haleiwa, up in the North Shore of Oahu. It was pretty tasty! My mom and I went at lunch time, about 11:30am and it was just starting to fill up. It was a warm day and we opted to eat inside in the air conditioned dining area rather than the outdoor lanai. The outdoor lanai area over looks the boat harbor. Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant is a great place to have a nice sit down meal after some time at the beach.
I ordered the fish taco’s with avocado. I was a little surprised as I thought fish taco’s should always come with avocado, but apparently not. I’m glad I ordered mine with avocado, I think it finishes any fish taco. I thought it was tasty.
I enjoyed it with the light chipotle sauce it came with. I’m all about sauces. My plate came with 2 taco’s but mom and I decided to eat family style so she got the other one, which was perfect, because it was just enough food between the both of us.
We also got the Black and Blue Ahi. Blackened ahi sashimi served chilled, with wasabi ranch dipping sauce & pickled ginger. I am a sushi fiend, so anything sashimi, I know I will enjoy. This was a great accompaniment to my fish taco.
Sizzling Mushrooms, sautéed in garlic-herb butter, served sizzling to your table. It wasn’t “sizzling”, but it was nice and hot. Also very tasty. These 3 small plates were perfect for our appetites. Service wise, our waitress was attentive and friendly and knowledgeable about the menu as well as the specials. If you are in the North Shore in Haleiwa, definitely hit up Haleiwa Joe’s Restaurant.
