Northern California Wedding Photographer| Grateful for Shannon.

Shannon and Christian renewed their 10 year wedding anniversary.  This couple is very special to me because Shannon donated one of her kidney’s to my one of my aunt’s almost 7 years ago.  She didn’t know my aunt, she was actually good friends with her son, my cousin Thomas.  She didn’t hesitate to see if she was a potential donor when Thomas shared with her that his mom was in need of a kidney.  Turns out she was a match and without thinking of herself, she donated her kidney.  At the time, Shannon had no children and thought more of my aunt’s future than her own.  I almost passed up the opportunity to photograph their renewal because they would be celebrating in Fresno and, selfishly, I thought it was a pretty far drive for me and my family.  I slapped myself silly.  How dare I complain about MY inconvenience, when this woman GAVE her kidney to my aunt!!!  Ya, it was like that.. I am so so sooooo happy that I was able to be part of their event.  I was able to get to know Shannon, Christian and their two children a little more…. Grateful for your big, big heart.

  1. Jenn, these are so beautiful! What a moving story. I just finished looking through the slideshow… such a special day that you captured so perfectly! It must have been such an honor to be there. Is that their backyard? I hope you are having a happy mother’s day weekend in Hawaii and getting lots of sunshine and tropically drinks!
