Min and Lena contacted me to inquire about a couples session with me in Kauai while they were on vacation. While I could have hopped islands to photograph them, they decided to extend their Hawaiian vacation by a couple of days and took a flight to see my on Oahu. I could not have been more honored. I think I asked them 2 or 3 times to make sure I heard right. Min said, “We are on Oahu, just to see you, we’re excited for our photo shoot.” Oh man. I can’t tell you how much that fills my heart.
I loved Min and Lena. They both have this aura of positivity and a “Yeah, let’s do this!” attitude and they were game for anything. It was a bit windy at Turtle Bay Resort and overcast.. I was crossing my fingers that the clouds would part just a little bit so that we got something of a sunset. Honestly, it was still a beautiful late afternoon and the sky was beautifully dramatic.
They are very easy and relaxed with each other… it’s fabulous to photograph.
One thing that Min said that stood with me as I was photographing them was that Lena “are the jewels of my crown”…. might not been exactly what he said, but something like that… and I really wanted to capture his sentiment for her. Be still my heart!
I really could have kept photographing them all day had the sun not gone down. 🙂
