Oahu, Hawaii Editorial Photographer
A couple of months ago, I was asked to photograph an editorial spread and cover for Westjet Magazine’s November publication, an in flight magazine for Westjet Airlines of Canada. Are you flying Westjet Air this month? My work can be seen all this month… just grab the in flight magazine and BOOM! there I am!! I flew to Kauai and took a helicopter tour of Kauai and got this gorgeous shot of the NaPali Coast and Westjet used it for a double page spread. Talk about seeing your work in print! WOW is an understatement for me… I’m just on cloud nine.
Isn’t that a GORGEOUS cover?!!! Proud to say that I shot that cover!! I’m still waiting for my hard copy in the mail, so I snagged these off their website because I couldn’t wait to showcase it on my blog.
There I am!! They had asked me to send them over a candid photo I took of myself while on assignment and honestly, I was so focused on my assignment that I didn’t take any of myself! When back on Oahu, I went over to the Baskin Robbins where President Obama worked and grabbed an ice cream for myself and took a selfie… so that’s the one they put up on the Contributors page… that’s why I’m holding an ice cream!! Just in case you were wondering. 🙂
I took a doors off helicopter tour and it was THE BEST. I highly recommend seeing Kauai like this. It was thrilling and absolutely breathtaking!!
Of course I went out on assignment on my home island of Oahu. I love travel and leisure magazines and looking through places to vacation… even though I live in a beautiful travel destination myself. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to shoot for a travel and leisure magazine myself!
